Sunset Pond Inlet Repair

Sunset Pond Inlet Repair

Sunset Pond Inlet Repair Project Status: Construction is complete! During the 2013 flooding sediment was deposited above the Sunset Pond inlet, causing the creek to flow in multiple channels and diverting the water away from the inlet. As a result, the pond was unable to remain full this past fall.  The Sunset Pond is an important water source for fire protection in this remote area and is the only reliable significant water source for the last four miles of Fourmile Canyon Drive and the town of Sunset. The goal of the project is to redirect the water flow and repair the inlet to allow the pond to fill naturally year round.
